metres from the Cairnryan ferry terminal which is close enough for
convenience yet far enough away for peace and quiet, and we are less than a five minute drive
from the neighbouring Stranraer terminal. P&O ferry sailings from
Cairnryan offer the shortest conventional crossing to Larne, in Northern Ireland,
with the Stena HSS fast craft taking a similar length of time to sail to
Belfast.
Within a short drive of
Cairnryan are a number of beautiful gardens protected by the warm gulf
stream that frequents the area, forest walks and nature reserves. A Royal Society for the
Protection of Birds member we are just five minutes walk to the bird watching
area at Cairn Point frequented by many seeking a view of the King Eider
and other rare seabirds.
A period property, Cairnryan House was
built in 1894. Formerly the local Manse, the house retains many
of its original features.
Cairnryan House is licensed and
there is off-road parking for up to ten vehicles. Guests
are welcome to sit in our front garden with a drink, guest lounge which has a fire
lit on colder days, or just relax in your room watching the ferries go by.
All
of our rooms are non smoking, en-suite, centrally heated, with
television, dressing table, hairdryer and a courtesy tea and coffee
tray.
As you
can see most rooms offer a superb view of the loch, only metres away. Our
accommodation comprises one double room on the ground floor, with on the
upper floor, two luxury double rooms, one standard double
with King size bed, 3 twin rooms, 2 family rooms sleeping 2 adults + 1
